Results show that PAZZAZ works. After involvement in PAZZAZ for one semester:
85% increase one letter grade in their most difficult subject area.
12% will make the honor roll for the first time.

PAZZAZ focuses its efforts in southeastern San Diego, a historically under-invested area. With high unemployment rates and many low-income and single-parent families, the need for quality education is paramount. Schools in the area are sorely overcrowded and limited in resources. Nearly one-quarter of all students in the San Diego Union School District drop out of school, the majority of them are children of color.

An inadequate education paints a bleak future for many of these young people. For some, the only alternatives are gang involvement, criminal activities, and a continuing cycle of failure.

PAZZAZ dramatically impacts children’s lives and futures. With more than 700 children per year engaged in its programs, PAZZAZ works with families to remove barriers to success and build hope for the future.

PAZZAZ provides tutorial and homework assistance to 75% of its children at one-fourth the actual cost of the programs. The other 25% attend PAZZAZ on scholarships provided by PAZZAZ and its supporters. No child is denied access.
